Kefalonia is also famous because of Myrtos one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but there are other beaches that stand out, like Antisamos in Sami, Xi in Lixouri and the lively beaches of Skala and Makrys Gialos. It is a truly verdant island surrounded by the emerald waters of the Ionian Sea,an island of mystery and strange phenomena. Here the sea water disappears under Argostoli, the capital of the island, in the so-called Katavothres, and ends in the atmospheric cave of Melissani where the lake water creates turquoise reflections on the walls of the cave. Ιt is also worth visiting the Cave Drogarati, southwest of Sami, which impresses visitors from the first moment, as the stalagmites and stalactites created in this magnificent workshop of the earth for hundreds of thousands of years make up a unique work of sculpture.
